The Rules
Pinewood Gotcha Game
General Rules: Outs, Safe Zones, Penalties, etc.
1.) Only direct body hits will be counted as an out (clothing counts as well).
2.) Permitted means include only the following: Spray bottles and water balloons. Bottles of water, water guns, pools, and spit do not count. (spray bottles are around $1 at target…look in the travel toiletry section).
2a.) you cannot use your own spit to get someone out...however, if you are able to maneuver a child under the age of 6 months in order to get their spit on the player it is considered an out...
3.) Don’t use any means of getting an out that will hurt someone. If the person is injured by your water, they are not out, you are.
4.) Only water can be used, no other liquids.
5.) Do Not use cars or anything to block driveways, roads or any other public or private property. (This is a game, don’t be inconsiderate of those not playing)
6.) Safe zones consist of church events 30 minutes before to 30 minutes after any church sponsored event, places of employment—ALL THE TIME, or participation in a sports or school event,practices included (30 min before and after said event). Inside school buildings and church buildings are always safe zones! Outside of church buildings are NOT safe zones.
7.) At anytime that you cannot legally get out, you cannot get anyone out.
8.) If the defensive player squirts the offensive player, the offensive player is neutralized for 1 hour.
8a.) Neutralization-means that you cannot squirt anyone b.) you can neutralize anyone playing, however you may not squirt anyone other than your target without them first exposing their weapon.
9.) You must be considerate of bystanders. If you get an innocent bystander wet you can’t squirt anyone for 1 day.
10.) You can’t get someone you live with out inside your place of residence (i.e. siblings could not squirt each other inside their house). Otherwise, your house is not a safe zone.
11.) NO Bodyguards
12.) To secure a valid out, the defensive player may not be held by force by accomplices of the defensive player, the defensive player or another player. You may not take anyone anywhere by force.
13.) Damage to any property, people, or breaking of any laws (DO NOT BREAK ANY LAWS) (anything illegal) is not only the responsibility of the person involved, but also may cause the player to be dismissed from the game.
14.) Absolutely no squirting out of/into a car that is on/moving.
15.) A contract written by one or more participants and signed by both parties are official game documents whose terms must be upheld. The terms are completely up to the creators of the contract. An out yielded through breaking a contract is invalid and should not be reported.
16.) Any ties go to the offensive player.
17.) Penalties for rule violations are up to the staff’s discretion. Lying about an out can get a player ejected from a game, so don't do it. Know the rules.
18.) If you do not get an out within two days then your identity will be revealed to all players via email and anyone playing the game is free to get you out until you have either squirted your target or get out.
19.) These rules are subject to change at any time. Emailed notice will be sent from the pinewoodgotcha@hotmail.com account.
How to Report an Out:
1.) Email pinewoodgotcha@hotmail.com within an hour of the out. If there is any argument over the out contact Sara. And don’t be a baby; if you got out admit it.
2.) Reporting an out is the offensive player’s duty. In the email you should put when, where, who was involved and a general story. If an out is not reported within an hour the out is void and then the offensive player is neutralized for 2 hours.
3.) If for some reason the offensive player cannot email within an hour, he/she can text Sara with the time of the out and send the story as soon as possible.
If you get Out:
1.) Email pinewoodgotcha@hotmail.com with time of the out and how it happened. (Remember that if the offensive player doesn’t report the out within an hour you are not really out…so the time is important)
Other Random, but Important Rules:
1.) Sara and other staff members have the right to create new rules to cover unforeseen circumstances. Those rules will be distributed via email to all players and will clearly state when they become effective.
2.) At certain points in the game Secret Players (aka non-players, staff members, sponsors, or parents) will be sent out. An email will be sent to all players at the time of their entrance into the game, however their identities will not be revealed.
3.) Sundays are a day of rest. NO game play on Sundays whatsoever.
4.) Game play, outs and announcements will be posted at pinewoodgotcha.blogspot.com.

The Game Begins
The game begins on June 5 at 8am. If you want to play email your name, grade, phone number, and email to pinewoodgotcha@hotmail.com by June 1. Official rules will be sent to you after that. Good luck!
